Some friendships are built in boardrooms. Ours was built over a sizzling hot plate, a pot of green tea, and at least one argument about how much garlic is "too much" (there is no such thing).
Andy flew in from Sydney by way of Wanaka, where he spends his spare time flying small planes over mountains and pretending the landing strip is a teppan grill. Tats, our Tokyo host, knows exactly where the best counter seats are and exactly when to order another round.
